More Tahoe

Our second day in Tahoe, we advanced to skis.
We did a little cross country skiing in the back country because we are hard core like that.
Some of us did better than others.
Eddie was a good sport though.

We stopped for a lunch break.
This is what you get when you say "Hey Kinnier's!  Look this way for a picture!"
See what I have to work with people.
Towards the end of our expedition, we got a special treat when it started to snow.
The next day, our cross country skis turned into down hill skis (Well, Nick's skis turned into a snowboard, but you get the idea).

You may notice my new little sidebar on the left there.  These are all new picture labels that take you to all kinds of different posts on my blog.  Fun, eh?  Okay, it's probably just fun for me, but I'm okay with that.

Tahoe Part One

We are back from Tahoe, and Holy Crap is it pretty there.  Were it not for the frigid temperatures, I could totally live there.  I know that I said I wanted a drink hot chocolate in the lodge kind of weekend, but I am so glad it was not that.  As if it would be anything close to that with the Kinnier family.  They are not exactly your sit around type of people. Our first day there, we were out snow shoeing.  This was a new phenomenon for me, and I really kind of liked it.
The activities got progressively more intense as the weekend went on. Next up....cross country skiing.

double rainbow.

Yesterday, Amy came busting through my front door after work telling me to get outside.  I came out and saw the most incredible rainbow. And not only one, but TWO.  One was very bright, and the other one was very faint.  You could see it better in person than in these pictures.
My arrow is pointing to the second rainbow that you can see if you look REALLY closely.
While Amy and I were admiring these rainbow, this car drove by with a couple of guys.  They rolled down their window and started talking to us about how cool rainbows are.  Because really, they are cool.  But then Nick came up and was like, "back off my wife dudes."
Ok, except he didn't do anything of the sort.

After they drove off, Amy turned to me and said they were totally flirting with us (and she was right, they were).  Only, I pointed out to her what I was wearing.
Yeah, they were just flirting with her.
And then, the rainbow marveling continued when Kim (youngest sister) texted me.
She makes me laugh.
Oh rainbows.

We are off to Tahoe today for a little ski weekend.  I think I would prefer a sit in the lodge and drink hot chocolate weekend, but we will see.

A Little Valentine's Day Recap

I got home from work and admired my heart garland.
Then we walked the poochies.
FYI: These pictures are totally NOT from Valentine's Day.  But, I didn't take any pictures of our V-day walk, so these here pictures are going to represent that part of our day instead.  The rest are from the actual day, I promise.

After the walk, Nick put dinner on the grill and we relaxed while we waited.
And then after a while, we were still waiting.  Dinner was taking a bit longer than expected.  I suggested we watch something on Netflix while we waited, but Nick said that did not seem romantic enough.

So, we played cards instead.  The epitome of romance.
 And finally, dinner was served.
That little chicken was delicious and organic.  So organic that he even had a name....Henry.  When I found that out, I didn't want to eat him anymore. For a little ambiance, we had some Valentine's Day candles thanks to a couple of my fourth graders.

And just when I thought the evening was over and was washing my face, Nick came into the bathroom, opened up the drawer and pulled these suckers out.
Ummm, WHOA!  Totally not expecting that, best husband ever.  And what did I get him?  Nothing.  Hello crappy wife!

I did, however, make him a focal point of my instagram for the day.
So, I would say
It was a good, good day.
YAY!
(i love rhyming)

Super Bowl Sunday

Super Bowl Sunday started with church and baptisms.
Woot Woot!
And that would be Nick, doing the baptizing!

And then the party continued at our house.

I pulled out the Super Bowl decorations from last year's party and put them up around the house, including our fun little betting game.
I was not thrilled with the outcome of the game, but I wasn't really too excited about either of the teams anyways.  Unlike my sister, who is a bit Patriot obsessed.
Until next year...
