The Big 2-7!

Nick's Birthday Celebration:

Started with breakfast at the harbor.
Then we headed home so that Nick could open his presents!
He has been wanting a fire pit for a while, and I happened to get a good little deal on this one from Home Depot because it was the floor model.

Believe it or not, this is the first time that I have ever bought clothes for Nick.  I think I did a pretty good job.  He liked both the shirts I bought for him, but one was a little small.  This gray and yellow striped one was on clearance for only $4.97 at Target.  I love that store.
Nick was having a craving to do some gardening, so we did a little of that.  It's probably because he has been cooped up doing projects inside the house for the last month, so he was itching to do a project outside.  I will be posting some of our inside projects soon!
Nick's birthday would not be complete without a trip to the beach.
And you really can't go to Laguna Beach without getting THE BEST GELATO EVER from Gelato Paradiso!
And then we used the fire pit, and it was AMAZING.  It will revolutionize night life in our backyard.  I think the reason why this is such a good present for Nick is because now I will actually sit outside with him at night.  Otherwise, I am too cold.  So really, the reason why he loves this present is because it means more time with me....he just can't get enough.
And, I am very thankful that we are no longer in that awkward couple of months where I am 29, and he is 26.  It makes me sound like a cougar.

Happy 27th Nick!
I love you!

  1. Nick, you are one lucky man to have a wife such as yours. It has truly been a blessing to be a part of the group! Mindy that was both an awesome and thoughtful gift, I wish I could have been there to share that time with you guys/gals.

  2. Happy birthday, Nick!

We have a fire pit, too...great for relaxing! Enjoy!

I never knew he was a younger man. Wait until you are in different "decades." I'm just glad Derek is finally with me in my 30's.
