over the weekend

Nick and I have been trying to do some fun things these last few days of summer, seeing as how I am going to back to school on Wednesday. Grrrrr.

So, suprise, suprise, we went to Ramos House Cafe on Friday morning.
Nick ordered their B.L.F.G.T. (that's bacon, lettuce, and fried green tomatoes).

After breakfast, we came home and worked on some projects.  Nick worked on putting a new vanity in our bathroom, while I worked on the fun task of cleaning out the office closet.  Both of these projects turned into two day projects, so on Saturday morning, when we woke up, our house looked like this:
Except our bedroom looked worse than this, because the floor was covered with three seperate piles of laundry that I was planning on getting to.  There was not one clean room in the house....NOT ONE.  So, imagine my dilemna, when the doorbell rang at 9:30, while I was still in pajamas, and while Nick was conveniently walking Brontie.  I quickly ran in and changed my pants, then peeked through the peek hole to see who it was, at which point I wanted to vomit.  It was the appraiser. Who needed to walk through the WHOLE HOUSE. Who needed to take pictures of EVERY ROOM in the house.  We're in the process of refinancing, and Nick had made this appointment.  We both forgot about it.  I walked away from the door, threw a silent little temper tantrum and contemplated hiding out in the shed until he was gone, but then decided that I needed to be an adult and answer the door.  When the guy went into the backyard, I quickly raced through the house to try to clean what I could (like throwing the piles of laundry in the laundry basket) and frantically called Nick to tell him to get his butt back here so that I did not have to be completely mortified alone.  I spent the rest of the day feeling quite distraught over the whole episode, and Nick just laughed and laughed.  But, then my parents got here, which made me feel better.  We packed up the dogs, picked up some Pedro's, and headed to Dog Patch with them and Amy.
And they went back to Arizona yesterday.  But on the way out there, they bought a jet ski.  Hot Diggity.

  1. Hi There. I came here via Bev at Flamingo Toes to see the wedding post. Such a cute wedding. Then I read this post. So funny. That would happen to me for sure. I would have died. Once we refinanced and I had just got home from a serious surgery. My Hubby said not to worry about it.....so there I was in bed as they went through the bedroom. I love your dogs. When I saw your blog banner I loved it. My blog is Cozy
Blanket. The quilt reminds me of that but then to top it off with that cute owl. Wow.
