Our Adoption Profile Book

For our adoption, we had to make a profile book for the birth parents to look at.  I started this back in September because, at that point, I knew we would most likely be adopting sooner, rather than later.  I'm glad I started then because it took me forever to finish.  But, I am really happy with how it turned out. I designed each page in Picasa.  Using something like photoshop or illustrator would have probably been much more user friendly, but I tried to make do with what I had (and it was free). Then I just uploaded them into the book. I ordered the book through blurb, and I am really happy with the quality.  I originally ordered one from a different company and was not impressed, so I tried again with blurb, and it is much better....
For some of you, those pictures may be enough.  But, I am sure that most of you would like to spend half your day reading all about us.  So for you guys, I have uploaded each individual page  of the book just so you can really soak it all in.

So, Belle is still in our book, as it should be.  She will always be a part of our family, and our children are going to know all about her and the source of joy and comfort she was to me while we waited for them.

To see our second adoption profile book, visit here. I like it even better than this one.

  7. MIndy, I don't know how anyone in their right mind could NOT pick you guys after seeing that book! It is beautiful. I love the letter that you wrote to the birth mom at the beginning. I am so inspired by you two. Your love and respect for your baby's birth mom is so special. I am INCREDIBLY sad to hear the news about Belle!! I know that God placed her in your life to help you through hard times. I bet she's playing in Heaven with Abby now =)

  8. Wow! Incredible adoption profile book!!! We are working on our own and are just blown away by how perfect this adoption profile book looks. We were wondering what program you used. We've begun with several different options and just haven't settled in on what we like best. Glad we stumbled upon this and know that today we are praying for you this week as you continue on this journey. If you wouldn't mind emailing us the name of the program or any suggestions, that would be a huge blessing. Our email is brettandlauraadopt@gmail.com. Thanks!

    Grace and peace,

  10. I just wanted to say thanks for this. I have referenced this post a lot while creating our own profile book. Funny how things like this make you feel like you have friends all over...it seems like our stories are similar and if we met one day, we'd be friends. Anyways, thanks for sharing, and I'm so happy you have brought your little lovey home. We still wait, trying to be patient for what God has in store for us! Blessings from BC.
