This Stage

Oh Silas. He's climbing on everything, breaking wine glasses, pulling everything out of the drawers and cupboards in the kitchen, pulling all the books off the bookshelf and ripping pages out of them, dropping whole rolls of toilet paper into the toilet, eating june bugs, and crawling all over the house, including onto and across the coffee table.  The kid cannot be contained.  He won't sit still, he flips over constantly while his diaper is being changed, he squirms out of your arms when you try to hold him, and he bites.

But OH.MY.GOSH. He gives the VERY best hugs, plays peek-a-boo, entertains us constantly, smiles incessantly, waves hi and bye, claps in excitement, is happy ALL THE TIME and laughs at us.  He laughs at us, and it is my favorite thing ever!  The kid thinks I'm funny.  If I do something silly or say something in a funny voice, he will laugh out loud. He also does things to try to make us laugh and then cracks up when we do. And he climbs into his toy box. What a genius! He is pure joy. Seriously, this kid is the best, and I am LOVING this stage.

  1. WHAT. A. CUTIE!! That's actually a HUGE understatement!! I love how you write about and keep up with all of his stages. I wish I had done that with mine, but I felt I was too busy and that I would remember later (I don't).

    1. Thanks! Yeah, I kind of started to realize that I wasn't going to remember things, when I couldn't even remember things that were happening a month ago. So, I decided to try to document things a little more regularly.

  2. Is that the phil & teds lobster chair? How do you like it? I'm thinking of using that one when the time comes to save space.

    1. It's actually made by Inglesina. It's very similar to the Phil and Ted's one, but a little cheaper. I love it! It's pretty much taken the place of our other high chair.

  4. I love his stance in the Kitchen just like his daddy... that photo is precious! My Jayson has the same walker and it rarely has the purple telephone attached anymore. Such a fun age!

  5. I came across your blog as I was researching creating adoption books for a friend of mine who is just starting the process and I've been stuck on your blog ever since. Your blog and your stories and just reading about the love you have for this little boy and how incredibly blessed he is to have you two as parents is absolutely amazing and inspiring! I've been in tears! To read how your journey to motherhood has turned out so different than what you initially imagined and the absolute blessing that you've been to your son's life and he to yours...I just can't put into words how it touched me. Thank you for sharing your story with us!
