The Rest of the Dates of Christmas

I have lots of blogging to catch up on, so we will start with the remainder of the 12 dates of Christmas...since we didn't come anywhere close to 12 dates. (See date #1 here.)

Date #2
We went to see this house.
Date #3:
I don't remember what movie we watched because I fell asleep.
Date #4:
We went to a cocktail party at some friends house.

Date #5:
Our friends, Jeremy and Lynsey, gave us a gift certificate to this restaurant to thank Nick for officiating their wedding.  We finally used it!
Maybe next year, we will try to actually do twelve.

The First Date of Christmas

About 13 days before Christmas, I had the brilliant thought to give Nick "12 Dates of Christmas".  Except, it's really not that brilliant when you only have 12 days to get those 12 dates in.  So, it will probably end up being more like 6 dates of Christmas, since we have already opted out of some of the dates, due to me hastily planning some pretty lame ones.

These dates are coming at a much needed time for us.  We realized that we have been desperately lacking quality time together that does not revolve around talking through, crying about, and making decisions about infertility crap.

So, here is our first date....
It feels weird to post and not mention anything about the shooting last week.  But, really I can't think of anything to say that hasn't already been said a million times better by other people.  It was horrific and tragic and I really can't wrap my mind around it.  All I can say is that this world is not as it was created to be, and thank God that He will make all things new.
This was a really beautiful tribute.

Winner of the etsy giveaway is Hilary!

My Birthday

We recently celebrated my 29th birthday.  I was really dreading this birthday since I am now in the last year of my 20's.  I do not feel old enough to be 30 AT ALL.

But, we celebrated nonetheless with a trip to The Melting Pot in San Clemente.
And then Nick gave me something I have been wanting for a long time.
I can't wait to see how the pictures I have been taking on it turn out.

Now that I have my camera back (I had to send it back to Sony to get fixed), I will be posting more regularly.

Date Night

Well, like I said, I had a plan for this night. But, the plan I had did not actually happen. Nick started working on putting up a pull up bar in the garage and it got pretty involved. So we started out a little late and decided to drive down to Laguna for a quick dinner and walk. We found a little taco place called Taco Loco. The tacos were really good, but pricey.

I was surprised that I actually liked this beer. I never like beer.
By the way, the pull up bar is really cool!

Date Nights 2 & 3

I am sure that you have all been sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for me to inform you of what I chose for my date night selection. Here is it 2 weeks later and you are still waiting. Well, wait no more. TA DA....

We got some tasty burritos and delicious fried zucchini from A's Burgers in Dana Point. We took it down to Doheny and ate while we watched the surfers.
THEN, last week, Nick planned our date night. We rode all the way from our house to Salt Creek Beach and back. There is a trail that goes all the way.

And, now we are back to my turn. Tomorrow is my night, and this time I have a plan. (Thanks Mom!) I will try to be a little quicker on the posting this time around.

Date Night

Last week we had our first official date night.
Picnic. San Clemente. Sunset.
Planned by Nick.
(We also had some yogurt and pizza after, but we were too busy enjoying it to take any pictures)
So, tomorrow is my turn to plan. Any ideas?
