The End of Things

Here I sit in my bed, on this, my last night of freedom.
Tomorrow I return to school.
I tried to make the most of my last day.  I enjoyed myself some beach time with that husband of mine and a double scoop of Thrifty rainbow sherbet ice cream.
But that all happened after my unsuccessful trip to the Doheny clothing exchange.  You see, I had some pants that I was no longer in need of, that I thought I would trade in.

This was now my third attempt to trade in clothes at one of these stupid clothing exchange places.  I've been denied every time.  This is shocking, I know, considering my keen sense of style.  Today my clothes didn't make the cut because the girl was looking for "current fall fashions".  Ummmm, since when did pants go out of style?  Last I checked, you wear pants in the fall.

This is a very vulnerable position to be put in, having someone scrutinize your clothes.  And then to be rejected.  I just can't take it anymore.  I am officially done with clothing exchange stores.
And sadly, I am officially done with summer.

July Fourth

Last year's Fourth of July party was such a success, that we decided to do everything the same this year.  It started with a bike ride to the beach for those of us who could handle it.  Some people were a little too wimpy.  Though, they would probably say they just couldn't fit their bikes in their cars.  But, I know the truth.
We love celebrating our anniversary with everyone!
Then we rode back to the house, played some games, and barbequed.
We had tons of fireworks to play with out front with all of our neighbors.
Then we climbed up on the roof and watched the real fireworks.
 Another Fun Filled Fourth!

Kim's an Adult

Last weekend, we went over to Kim's new place to have a barbeque.  Kim is officially on her own, spending her first summer in her very own place.  She and some friends rented a huge townhome near Biola.  This place is amazing and significantly larger than my house.  But, they are cramming about 8 girls in there, so I guess that makes sense.
{The cute little hostess and the delicious food}
Kristina and Sean were home for the weekend, so they got to join in the fun, as did all three dogs.
Those dogs knew what they wanted, and their Grandpa/Dad made sure to spoil them.
Yay for family barbeques!

Nick and I are off to Plaskett Creek in Big Sur to camp for a couple of nights, then we are headed to Turlock for the lovely Molly Kinnier's wedding shower!  I can't wait!

Man,this is my fifth blog post in a row, after a 3 week absence.  I love having time!  If only it could be summer year round.

Old Roll of Film

Nick and I found an old roll of black and white film the other day. Nick took these pictures the summer we got married (2006), but we never got them developed. I finally took them in the other day and had them put on a cd. I really like the way they turned out. Here are a few highlights!

Garment District in L.A. (I love this place!)

Tonight is night number 5 out of 11 without Nick. Almost half way there!

Okay, so I am back at it. Blogging on my own personal blog again. I will continue to blog on Caramel Cup, but this blog will be about the life of Nick and me. As I said on Caramel Cup, my goal is to blog at least once a day while Nick is gone on either this blog or Caramel Cup. He's in Alaska until the 31st, so that is 10 blogs for me! Here I go.
