Independence Day

This was our third year taking a bike ride from our house to the beach.  But this year, we decorated our bikes before heading out.
Sadly, the day was very overcast, so the beach was a little cold.
How cool are we that we share our anniversary with all these people.  And how cool are they that we choose to spend it with them.
After the beach, we headed back to our house to play, eat, and enjoy fireworks.  More people came over to enjoy the second half of the day with us.

Fireworks from the roof.....another Fourth of July Tradition for us.
Let's see how long we can keep this tradition going!
Year One Here
Year Two Here

Thank you to Steve for many of these pictures.

Kim Graduated. We Had a Party.

Kim is the cake maker in the family (as seen here), but Amy and I wanted to make one for her ourselves on her special day.  We baked it....then we made her do the rest.  We did make all the other food though, alongside our mother and aunties.
This pinwheel garland was so fun and easy to make. The congrats sign is just black construction paper, written on with chalk and strung together with ribbon.
Somehow I did not get any of the family photos that we took, so I will have to post those later.  And, I promise, there were guests at the party.  I guess I was a little too preoccupied taking pictures of the decorations to get any shots of real people.

Bess Ella

Last weekend, we had a baby shower for the newest member of our family.
Bess Ella
She is as darling as they come.
And, I wish she were mine.
But alas, she is not.  And, I am still not a mom.
And he is still not a dad.
And they are still not grandparents.

So while we wait and wait and wait some more, we will try to enjoy the babies that are in our lives right now.
And throw some damn good baby showers.
More on that later.

Super Bowl Sunday

Super Bowl Sunday started with church and baptisms.
Woot Woot!
And that would be Nick, doing the baptizing!

And then the party continued at our house.

I pulled out the Super Bowl decorations from last year's party and put them up around the house, including our fun little betting game.
I was not thrilled with the outcome of the game, but I wasn't really too excited about either of the teams anyways.  Unlike my sister, who is a bit Patriot obsessed.
Until next year...

The Decor and the Dessert Table

I wanted to share some of the decorations from the wedding, because it was so perfectly and beautifully decorated.
Molly's cousin, Meredith, did all the flower arrangements.
Everyone in the family helped make different jams for the favors.
And here is more of the dessert table that we worked so hard on.
Well, that wraps up the wedding posts.  It's been fun to relive it all.

You can see more of the wedding from our cameras here and here.

Happy Martin Luther King Day!
I will be reading his biography to my class this week.  It is so inspiring.
